Klara Hammarström and Erik Segerstedt move on to the final in the Melodifestivalen

The first finalist was Erik Segerstedt with the slightly more swinging ballad “Show me what love is”. He has competed before in the Melodifestivalen with the band EMD, with the Norwegian artist Tone Damli and as a choir singer.

But this is the first time as a solo artist.

– I’m actually shocked. I was afraid of everyone in this competition actually, everyone had something fantastic, he says in the broadcast of “After -party”.

The pre -favorite Klara Hammarström also went home with the audience with the contribution “On and on and on”.

– I am so indescribably grateful so it is absolutely magical, she says.

Noticed the victims in Örebro

Prior to the competition, some artists expressed themselves how they felt about participating in the Melodifestivalen shortly after the devastating mass shooting in Örebro.

At the beginning of the program, hosts Edvin Törnblom and Keyyo said a few words:

– We all think of you and send all our love, says Keyyo.

Next week it is time for competition 3 in Västerås.

According to project manager Anders Wistbacka, security had also been increased during the competition.
