Kiteen Pallo for the Midsummer break in a festive atmosphere | Sports in a nutshell

Kiteen Pallo’s men got to the Midsummer break with a 1–0 (3–3, 4–3) win over KPL.

On Monday, Kiteen Pallo’s men were the first to leave for the midsummer break in Superpesis with a good mood.

The struggle, which provided quite a training in the rules, ended with KiPa’s victory worth two points with the numbers 1–0 (3–3, 4–3).

The hosts of the beachside scored points in their eighth game in a row. Kouvola’s Ballonlöjät, on the other hand, had been the only team to get points from all their matches so far.

– We have found a suitable way for us to play nests. The players are beginning to believe in this, said KiPa’s fan Sami Partanen.

KiPa, who happily bombed the ball into the second period as a team player, led twice in the opening period, but KPL pushed both to level with a joker by Patrik Wahlsten in innings. The latter equalizer came especially as the tying free hit in the last inning. A KiPa locker thrown behind his back as a tactical link to a wrong pass Joona Lehtinen was in the hitting sector when Wahlsten reached for a one-handed hit, where the ball that went in the direction of the second base hit Lehtinen’s backside.

In the second period, the last lead of the hosts carried until the end. The 4–3 victory was presented in the third inning by a joker who hit the ball into the second seam as his only home run of the game Jiri Pippola.

KiPa’s awardees were the leading scorer who brought in two runs Otto Kauppinen (at 4/6) and a joker changer who went home once Samu Vainikainen (at 6/7). Last season, the 25-year-old Halsua native Kauppinen, who only hit empty fielders (4+0), had his first regular run of the season in the second inning as a bonus.

Wahlsten, who scored four runs (at 5/11), and the runner-up, who brought in one run, stood out from the bullpen. Jasper Luoma (at 3/5). Luoma threw five hits as an outfielder.

All the other dozen major league teams will play a full six-game round on Wednesday before the almost week-long Midsummer break.
