Dr. Battal Tekin explained the purpose of the surgery as follows: “FESS surgery; It is a surgical operation performed to open or widen the flow paths between the sinuses near the nasal cavity and the nasal cavity by using an endoscope in order to reorganize the deteriorated ventilation of the sinuses. In this surgery, it is aimed to restore the functions of the sinuses to normal. With the help of endoscopes at different angles connected to the camera and micro-instruments of the appropriate size, the surgery is performed by entering only through the nostrils without making any incisions.”

In addition, the areas that cannot be reached with classical methods or cannot be seen well by the surgeon can be reached much more easily with endoscopes. FESS surgical technique; It provides surgical intervention for only diseased tissues without damaging healthy tissues. HEAT should be avoided and heavy exercise should not be done

If no complications occur, the patient is discharged. It is recommended that the patient rest for the first few days after the operation. In order to reduce the blood pressure in the head area, the head should be kept higher than the body. The temperature of the room where the patient is and the temperature of the water applied to the face while taking a shower should not be too high. Because the width of the nasal veins will increase in hot environments, the amount of bleeding may increase. It is normal to have nasal congestion for 24 or 48 hours after FESS surgery. There may also be a feeling of dryness or crusting in the nose. Heavy exercises should not be done after the surgery. In addition to all these, antibiotic treatment is recommended for 5-10 days to the patient.
