The incident occurred at 5 pm on Wednesday.
– The patrol came into contact with a man and a woman where the suspicion of assault was strengthened. The man, who is in his 50s, was arrested and taken to the police station in Kiruna, says Karolina Thomtén, RLC officer at the police command center.
Violent towards the police patrol
The violence did not stop there and in connection with the arrest the man was suspected of further crimes.
– The man became violent against the police and is also suspected of violence against an official, says Thomtén.
None of those involved have had to seek medical care. After contact with prosecutors, the man has been arrested and further investigative measures will continue on Thursday.
