On September 1, a new law came into force which gives the municipalities and the police the opportunity to dispose of electric scooters that have been dumped in inappropriate places.
But the municipality of Kiruna will not take care of incorrectly parked electric scooters or build parking or staging areas. The legislation also means that it is forbidden to drive on pavements intended for pedestrians only.
– We have not made any decisions about building parking spaces, we trust that the users and the rental companies take care of this, says Sten Nylen (SJVP), who is chairman of construction and environment.
