Kirstie Alley, star of “Hello Mom, Here Baby”, died on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at the age of 71. The American actress was taken away by illness.

The American actress, known for Hello mama, here baby, was swept away by a devastating cancer “discovered only recently”, we learn in a press release shared by her children William True and Lilie Parker. “She was surrounded by her close family and she fought very hard” against the disease, they said.

Kirstie Alley began her television career, first by participating in a game show before appearing in small roles in the Star Trek saga. It’s the sitcom Cheers which brought her the recognition of her peers, since she won her first Emmy Award for best actress thanks to this role. It is however thanks to the comedy Hello mama, here baby that she achieved international popularity, playing the heroine Mollie Jensen in this comedy released in 1989 opposite John Travolta. She will resume this role in the two sequels, released in 1992 and 1993.

Kirstie Alley died on December 6, 2022. She was 71 years old. In a press release, her family said the actress was battling “only recently discovered” cancer. The actress had never publicized her illness, she had also appeared on television a few weeks before her death, in season 7 of Mask Singer American version.

Kirstie Alley has twice won an Emmy Award: first in 1991 for the sitcom Cheersthen in 1994, for the drama TV movie David’s Mother. In the cinema, we could see Kirstie Alley in several feature films, and especially in comedy Hello mama, here baby and its sequels, in which she plays the lead role opposite John Travolta. She also plays a role in Harry in all his statesrealized by Woody Allenbut also in The village of the damned by John Carpenter.

Kirstie Alley experienced a bad patch in the 2000s, linked to weight problems. We see her again in the Fat Actress series in 2005, then in television shows, such as The Masked Singer in 2022. She reached the second place of the podium of Dancing with the stars American version in 2011. Thereafter, she appeared in Accidental Love in 2015 (her last appearance in the cinema) and Scream Queens (her last appearance in a TV series) in 2016.

Kirstie Alley was married twice in her life: from 1970 to 1977, she was in a relationship with Bob Alley, before finding love again with Parker Stevenson from 1983 to 1997. She had two children from this second marriage: Lillie Price Stevenson and William True Stevenson.
