Britain’s King Charles has spoken out for the first time since the announcement that he was diagnosed with cancer, the BBC reports. In the statement, he thanks for the support.
“As all those who have been affected by cancer know, such kind thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement,” he says.
King Charles’ cancer diagnosis was announced by Buckingham Palace on Monday. He is currently at Sandringham Castle.
“It is equally encouraging to hear how the fact that I shared my own diagnosis has helped to increase public understanding and highlight the work of all the organizations that support cancer patients and their families in the UK and around the world,” said King Charles.
