In short, all acute care is combined in a ZCC. It is a one-stop shop instead of emergency number 112, the GP or the crisis service. Someone who needs care no longer has to wonder who to call. The intention is that a ZCC reduces the pressure on acute care. The care providers can quickly consult with colleagues from, among others, the ambulance care control room, the general practitioner, home care, GGZ or the emergency department. “We are already noticing that there are far fewer calls at cross purposes,” says Jack Versluis, director at RAVU (Regional Ambulance Facility Utrecht). RAVU is the initiator of the ZCC.
