Kinberg Batra’s private dinners were paid for with tax money

Private dinners in the Tessinska palatset organized by Anna Kinberg Batra have been paid for with tax funds, reports Aftonbladet.
A private chef was hired, among other things, when Kinberg Batra’s former colleagues were invited to dinner.
– The dinners that lead to salary deductions have only now been noticed in the review by the county board itself, says Håkan Larsson, administrative manager at the county board in Stockholm.

Several recruitments made by Stockholm County Governor Anna Kinberg Batra are being reviewed by the Ombudsman after the revelations.

TV4 Nyheterna revealed, among other things, that Kinberg Batra deviated from the routines at the authority when a new emergency manager was to be hired. A close friend of Kinberg Batra was also hired for a managerial position advertised on a bulletin board, only one person applied for the position.

Now documents from the County Administrative Board show that Kingberg Batra also used tax funds to pay for private dinners.

Hired chef was paid with tax money

Representation information that Aftonbladet has seen shows that Kinberg Batra invited dinners and did not pay privately. The governor’s work includes representing Stockholm, so dinners at the Tessinska palatset may be included. But according to the rules, the governor himself has to pay for private dinners.

In November, former colleagues of Anna Kinberg Batra were invited to a dinner. Then a private chef was hired and the total cost was SEK 11,248.

Another invitation was held in February earlier this year. Then her husband David Batra and the moderate state secretary Johan Berggren and his wife participated. The dinner was motivated by the fact that Kinberg Batra needs to be in contact with government representatives.

The two dinners were paid for with tax money.

Will be deducted from salary

In the documents that Aftonbladet has seen, it says on a list “paid privately through salary deductions” at the dinners. When the newspaper requested all salary deductions made by Anna Kinberg Batra, there were no deductions.

– The dinners that cause salary deductions have only now been noticed in the review the county administrative board itself is doing due to the questions the authority received from, among others, Aftonbladet, says Håkan Larsson, administrative director at the county administrative board in Stockholm.

The County Administrative Board has only started reviewing the private costs after the newspaper requested the information and also announces that Kinberg Batra will receive a salary deduction of SEK 4,500 in April and one of SEK 9,100 in May.
