When Kim met Putin in the Russian Far East in September, he got to know the Aurus Senat limousine. Among other things, Putin invited Kim to try the back seat of the official car. Kim’s official car is a German-made Maybach limousine.

North Korea’s state news agency KCNA reported that the car was delivered to Kim on Sunday. Kim’s sister Kim Yo-jong’s according to the gift is †a clear indication of the two leaders’ special personal relationship†.

The car gift may be in violation of the UN’s North Korea sanctions.

North Korea has been suspected of supplying Russia with ammunition, grenades and missiles for its war of aggression in Ukraine. According to some observers, this would have started as a result of the meeting between Putin and Kim last fall.

Russia has neither denied nor admitted the arms deliveries.

North Korea has denied that it will supply weapons to Russia in exchange for Moscow’s support for the development of satellite programs. This too would be an action contrary to UN sanctions.
