The woman wanted a divorce – then the husband stabbed her to death with 30 stabs in front of the children. Now the man is sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder, which according to the district court had an honor-related motive, reports Aftonbladet.
In addition to murder, the 53-year-old man is also convicted of gross breach of the peace against the children and gross breach of child protection.
The couple’s two sons were five and eight years old at the time of the incident and were forced to witness the murder of their own mother.
The district court also shares the prosecutor’s assessment that the murder was honor-related. In the judgment, the court writes that the man’s actions cannot be interpreted as anything other than that he considered that she “had dishonored his and the family’s honor”.
