He stabbed his pregnant partner to death when she was lying in bed in the couple’s home in Åkarp in Skåne. The Court of Appeal now also rules that the 42-year-old should be sentenced to life imprisonment.
The man himself wanted the life sentence converted into a fixed-term sentence, but the Court of Appeal sees no reason to change the district court’s sentence.
There, the life sentence is justified by the fact that the act was characterized by brutality and it is seen as an aggravating circumstance that the woman was pregnant and that the fetus also died from the many stab wounds.
The man himself called SOS Alarm and has admitted the act, but has stated that he was in a psychotic state.
