On Sunday, the competition ends where people have to kill pythons in the Everglades swamp area in Florida. In this year’s edition, over 600 people participated and hunted Burmese pythons for ten days.

Hunted snake – for eleven years

One of the hunters is called Thomas Aycock – he has been working to capture the snakes for eleven years.

– I get an adrenaline rush every time. When it throws itself at me, it’s a good day, he tells AP.

During the 2023 competition, 209 snakes were killed and the specific species, the Burmese python, is a threat to other mammals and snakes in the area and is classified as invasive. Such a snake can swallow its prey whole.
