The price of the league share has been a hot topic in the fall. According to Kiekko-Espoo’s board chairman Ami Rubinstein, the discussion about the price of the club’s league share is ongoing.
The Ice Hockey Championship League announced on Wednesday that Kiekko-Espo has been granted a conditional league license. Kiekko-Espoo’s dream of a league place is therefore close to being realized.
– The atmosphere is very good. The goal has been for a long time that the league would be played next fall. Now we are a big step closer to that, Kiekko-Espoo board chairman Amy Rubinstein stated.
The conditionality of the league license is an operational model in accordance with the rules in a situation where an application from outside the league is processed.
– It means that we have to take certain operational steps forward. Let’s make sure that we have the opportunity to successfully transition to the league next fall, and on the other hand, we have to agree on the acquisition of league shares with the league.
The price of the league share has been a hot topic during the fall. Previously promoted to the League, Sport, KooKoo and Jukurit paid 1.8 million euros for the league share. According to Urheilu’s information, throughout the license process, Kiekko-Espoo has required that its application be evaluated according to previous criteria, i.e. in the same way as for Sport, KooKoo and Jukurie.
This fall, Jokeri was told the price was 3.8 million and TuTo 3.6 million. SM league chairman Heikki Hiltunen told that it was 3.67 million euros.
– At the moment, I cannot comment on the stock any further. The discussion is still ongoing. We’ll tell you about it as soon as it’s too late to tell, Rubinstein said.
Rubinstein could not give a more precise timetable for the progress of the process.
– You have to ask the direction of the league for the schedule. We have a constant dialogue with the league and try to resolve the open issues as soon as possible.
