Kidnapped men were tortured with nail hammers and hot water

Two men were taken away, locked up and beaten with a nail hammer.
They were also forced into amphetamines and threatened to go into the woods to duel with firearms – all over an alleged drug debt.
Six people are now being sentenced for involvement in the case.

On the night of February 3, two injured people appeared at Ludvika hospital. Staff at the emergency reception called the police when four to five people tried to get at the two men.

When the police arrived at the scene, no one was left there, but four people were soon found near the hospital. In connection with the arrest of the suspects, a weapon that “looks like a Kalashnikov” was found, according to the police’s preliminary investigation.

It turned out that the two injured men had been kidnapped and beaten for between one and two days.

Both victims and perpetrators knew each other and the background to everything was that one of the men was accused of having stolen drugs from another – whereupon a fight broke out.

Threatened to duel

On the evening of February 1, the two men were forced into a car in central Ludvika and driven first to a sewage treatment plant, then to a bicycle storage room and finally to an apartment.

The men were beaten for hours, including by kicking and punching, with a nail mallet and with hot water mixed with oil.

One of the men was also subjected to threats that he would be forced into the forest to
duel another person with a firearm.

The perpetrators also forced amphetamines or other types of narcotics into one of the men on two occasions – before the two men finally managed to escape and get to the emergency department.

“Strike of Torture”

During the investigation, six perpetrators were identified who could be sentenced this week at the Falu district court.

“In this context, it should be mentioned that the blow with the so-called worm rake and pressing a person’s hand down into a hot mixture of oil and water have characteristics of torture,” the judgment states.

The prison sentences vary between one year as a minimum and two years and eight months as a maximum for robbery, kidnapping, illegal deprivation of liberty and assault.
