Sister Suellen Tennyson was abducted in April from the parish house in Namentenga province where she lived and worked, probably by a jihadist group. According to the church, she was taken away in the middle of the night, and “in her pajamas and without glasses or high blood pressure medication”.
Now the Catholic Church states that she “is in a safe place and in good health”.
Without naming her, Washington confirms Tennyson’s release, in neighboring Niger.
Why she is now free, or if the release came after some concession, is not known.
