Kia is apparently very popular for EV6 Working on a new makeover. The original model has been around for quite some time, so it’s clearly not a bad idea to refresh. The EV6 new image was spotted around the Hyundai-Kia R&D Center at Kia’s home in South Korea.
As you can see, the new model wears a very heavy camouflage, so it’s almost impossible to tell what will be new when it launches. Speaking of which, it’s unclear when we should expect it to hit the streets – we’re still in the camouflaged prototype stage, it’ll probably be at least a few more months.
Even so, we wouldn’t be surprised if it comes with customers next year, given how convoluted and lengthy electric vehicle launches are. There have been no rumors about an all-new powertrain, so the best guess right now is, for those already present in the original EV6 It’s just a matter of waiting for fine tuning. While very speculative at this point, a higher density battery team is welcome.
According to the source of these images, Kia has been struggling with deliveries for the current EV6 along with the Sorento and e-Niro, although we haven’t heard any more whining about “supply chain issues” and “semiconductor shortages” from the industry for a while.
