Kia EV5; Surprise new member to electric family after EV9

Sony Xperia 10 V appeared after Sony Xperia 1 V

Launched as a concept in the first stage, the Kia EV5 will represent the new era’s design lines in a more compact frame.

Just like Hyundai, Kia, which has made its claim to play the lead with the models it has introduced in recent years, is on its way to reveal the most remarkable models after the award-winning EV6. The South Korean manufacturer, which managed to impress all of us, as it did all over the world, with the EV9 ready for mass production last week, made another surprise promotion after a short period of time. Kia EV5, which stands before us with its concept dynamics, is getting ready to take its place on the agenda again this year with its mass production ready version.

First details shared for Kia EV5

The first plan for the EV5, which Kia official sources do not share numerical data such as range and engine for now, is based in China. For the model, whose mass production version is planned to be introduced in China towards the end of the year, markets such as America and Europe will also be on the list in the future. Emphasizing that its dimensions are close to the Sportage, which is already on sale, the EV5 is a direct competitor to the Nissan Ariya. We can say that a model that combines the new generation design approach that Kia has launched as a “composition of opposites” and the “digital tiger face” form, as in the EV9, awaits us.

In the cockpit section, we see that the EV5 will host different experiences, as in the EV9, and a lot of recycled materials will be used with a focus on sustainability. Just like in Volvo, no animal-derived leather will be used in the vehicle. The technical limits for the EV5, which will be shaped on the E-GMP platform, are mostly shaped in parallel with the EV6. This means that we can talk about frame possibilities such as a maximum battery capacity of 77 kWh and a range of around 480 kilometers. Kia is gearing up to launch four new electric vehicles by 2026, following the front-end EV5.
