KHL-Swedish ready for games in Switzerland

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Backen was presented by Traktor Chelyabinsk last summer but the contract was broken a few days before Christmas. Now he has finished with a new club and it is clear that he is leaving the KHL completely.

Swiss side Zug has signed the 31-year-old on a contract until the end of the season, the club announced on its website. There he replaces the injured Niklas Hansson.

Almquist had played in the KHL since 2019. In Sweden, he has represented HV71 and Frölunda.
