Khaddi Sagnia is now making big changes after the tough time

New club, new city, new coach.
After a couple of tough years, cross-country star Khaddi Sagnia chooses to take a new approach.
“I needed a change,” says the 30-year-old.

Khaddi Sagna was dogged by injuries last year but still chose to compete at the WC in Budapest. Since then, the athlete’s condition has worsened, forcing her to end the season early.

Now the Swede chooses to make big changes.

She leaves Ullevi for Göta, Gothenburg for Karlstad and changes coaches from Katrin Klaup to Anders Moller.
“I had been in the same bubble for many years and something new was needed to keep me going. New people and a new place,” she says in a press release from the Swedish Athletics Federation.

Sagnia, who this year missed the EC in Rome and the Olympics in Paris, is now aiming to get past the injury problem and back in the competition arena.
“I always have big goals, but some goals I have to put aside for the moment in order to come back and be able to feel safe and secure,” she says.
