The leader of the France team Kevin Mayer, reigning world champion, abandoned the decathlon on Friday at the Budapest World Championships, a blow for the Blues. The decathlon world record holder, hit in the left Achilles tendon, had warned that he would not take any risks one year before the Paris Olympics, and stops before the shot put, the 3rd of 10 events.
