Kevin Lankinen vs Ville Husso’s goalie duel ended with Lankinen’s NHL history trick in hockey’s NHL.
Vancouver Canucks goaltender Kevin Lankinen made history by being the first hockey league NHL goaltender to save ten wins out of the first ten away games at the beginning of the season.
Lankinen made a save in Vancouver’s 5-4 overtime win over Detroit in Sunday night’s scrimmage.
The Finnish hero stopped 27 shots in the match. Lankinen has 17 games under his belt this season as a starting goalkeeper and a total of 12 wins with a save percentage of 90.9. Only Winnipeg With Connor Hellebuyck has more wins than goalkeepers – 15.
The winning goal shook the Canucks in 64.00 Jake DeBruskwho sealed his hat trick with his hit.
– Lankinen has been a certainty himself and, of course, in a big role when we have won ten consecutive matches away from home.
– In every match, he has made a few necessary saves when it was most needed – just like today and in the previous Buffalo away match, which we also won in overtime, DeBrusk praised the Finn to Sportsnet.
In a 2-2 situation, Detroit’s goal was commanded by a player recently promoted from the AHL Ville Hussowho had to concede three goals in just under 37 minutes in the match. Husso had 15 saves.
At the beginning of the overtime period, before the final decision, Husso once blocked a Vancouver player’s drive through. For Husso, the game was only the third this season in the NHL. All games have ended in defeat.
In the AHL, Husso has saved five games this season with an amazing save percentage of 94.4 and won all games as a starting goalkeeper.
The Red Wings’ number one point guard Cameron Talbot hurt himself and was therefore sidelined.
