Kerstin Stålhammar, 86, has taken Hotell romance viewers by storm. During the season, she’s been outspoken, flirtatious and even brave enough to tattoo “la dolce vita” on her forearm. To the surprise of many, it is not Kerstin’s first tattoo, but she actually has another one.
News24 have spoken to Kerstin, who tells all about the mysterious tattoo.
Kerstin in Hotel romance: “Not the first time”
Kerstin tells Nyheter24 that she has always been adventurous. Just a few years ago, she skydived with her daughter and her children.
– As soon as we landed I said “I have to jump one more time”. It was the most wonderful thing I’ve ever been a part of, says Kerstin.
Since then, she has jumped a second time, and dreams of doing it again. But if her children get to decide, it’s all over.
– My daughters say that’s enough now, they can’t bear to come along a third time, says Kerstin and laughs.

“Too Much Bullshit”
The desire for adventure was also there 20 years ago, when Kerstin applied to the survivor program Robinson.
– It was Robinson’s second season, when Martin Melin was there. I got far in the casting process but left at the last minute, says Kerstin and continues:
– That season was the best, so it was a shame that I didn’t come.
To show the Robinson production what a bubbly, spontaneous and adventurous person she is, she chose to get a tattoo. It was the first time for Kerstin, but she wasn’t worried.
– I wanted to get a tattoo to show them how I am in the mind, who I am. So I made a colored butterfly on the thigh. It turned out well, but it was no Robinson.
Over the years, interest in Robinson has cooled, but she is convinced that she had done well.
– Today I don’t watch Robinson. That’s too much bullshit. When I searched, it was just about survival and looking for food, not everything else.

“Age doesn’t matter”
When Nyheter24 asks if Kerstin is done with TV now, she giggles and says that she could actually imagine being part of Hotel Romantik again.
– Then I would do it even better, she says and continues:
– That’s what I’m looking to show, that age has no meaning. I want to show that there are people like me left, who can stand on their feet and not be in pain when they are 86 like I am now.
