The children did not go to school, were not allowed to go to the dentist and were allegedly neglected – and when the authorities tried to take them into care, the trio put GPS transmitters on social services cars.
Now the three people are charged with arbitrariness with children.
– I believe that the crimes should be assessed as serious because it involved a systematic withholding for a longer period of time when they moved around the country in order to prevent the care from being provided. They have also used tracking devices. The children have also been withheld from schooling and dental care, which must also be taken into account in the assessment, says Chamber prosecutor Oscar Johansson, who is the head of the preliminary investigation, in a press release.
The man is also charged with assault and breach of child protection by two of his children, as well as fraud.
