Kenya: new demonstrations expected despite the latest deadly violence

Kenya new demonstrations expected despite the latest deadly violence

Tensions persist between the camp of President William Ruto and that of opponent Raila Odinga. The latter launched a protest movement and called for demonstrations on July 19, 20 and 21 to demand the repeal of the new finance law, which he considers punitive. At least nine people were killed last week, and six more the previous week. Calls for appeasement are increasing, but the two camps continue to attack each other by interposed speeches.
