Now son Liam Andersson has grown up and followed in his father’s footsteps.
A new picture of both shows the striking resemblance between Kennet and Liam.
The legendary football World Cup in 1994 will forever be a part of the Swedish people’s soul. When our blue-and-yellow heroes salvaged a heroic World Cup bronze in the USA and the memories of that championship still live in the hearts of many.
Andersson’s success
One of the big front figures in WC 94 was Kenneth Andersson. He came to the World Cup as a questionable striker who has not really managed to establish himself in Europe or in the national team.

But during that unforgettable summer, everything went right for Andersson, who scored a total of five goals and came second in the WC shooting league. He would then make 83 international appearances in the national team and play for big clubs such as Lazio, Bologna and Fenerbahce.

He is truly one of Swedish football’s top strikers of all time. Now his son does Liam Andersson entrance to the public.

At the age of 21, Liam has signed his first professional contract with Örgryte IS and will play in the Superettan during 2025. Now he is really following in his father’s footsteps, even though Kennet Andersson represented local rival IFK Göteborg during his career.
– Liam is a player we followed during 2024 and who had a nice development. He possesses footballing qualities in the attacking role which fits very well with how we want to play and in relation to our attacking players with a mentality which is what we want. It will be exciting to see his development in our environment, says the club’s sporting director Pontus Farnerud in an official statement.
Father Kennet has posted a picture of father and son, where the resemblance is really very clear, see the picture below. Of course, the son plays striker just like his father.
