In a post published on his Instagram account, singer Kendji Girac addressed his fans, three weeks after his gunshot wound.
Kendji Girac came out of silence this Friday, May 10, 2024, three weeks after his gunshot wound which occurred on the night of April 21 to 22 at a Travelers area in Biscarrosse in the Landes. The singer, who answered questions from investigators who ultimately opted for a shooting that occurred to “simulate suicide” after an argument with his wife, sent a message to his fans via a post published as a story on his Instagram account. This is the first time he has spoken publicly since the event which he himself defines as a “drama”.
The date is not insignificant since Kendji Girac recalls that it is the 10th anniversary of his victory in the 2014 edition of the talent show “The Voice” on TF1, a show which revealed him to the general public before the release of successful albums and several titles that became hits of French variety such as “Andalouse” or “Gitano”. He judges it as a “special day that changed [sa] life”.
In this message, he addresses his fans above all, assuring that he would have liked to “give you back a little of everything you gave me by being on stage today to celebrate this anniversary, but that’s not the case. is not possible and I am responsible for it. He then adds to apologize for “all the pain and worry I may have caused you”.
The singer mainly gives his news: “I’m treating myself, I’m resting to come back even stronger thanks to you and I want to leave this period of my life behind me”, “thanking the sky to be alive”. The singer ends with a final word to his fans “I love you”, without giving any date for his return to the stage. Kendji Girac had finished his previous tour at the start of the 2023 school year. According to La Provence, however, he was to participate in a concert in Marseille on April 26, 2024 organized as part of the launch of the festivities for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
