Ken Loach may have made his last film

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter says 86-year-old Loach that “if you have to be realistic, it will be difficult to make another film”.

— Films take a couple to make and I will be closer to 90 by then, he says and compares himself to an old racehorse.

— It’s like dragging out an old krake at the Grand National. You think: Oh my God, will I fall at the first hurdle?

Loach, who is politically active and an outspoken socialist, is known for realistic portrayals of society and politically charged films. His career spans six decades and among his most famous films are “Kes – the Falcon” from 1969, “Freedom’s Prize” from 2006 and “I, Daniel Blake” from 2016. The latter two films were awarded the Palme d’Or at Cannes.
