The recommendations from the advisory committee’s report are not yet final. The Municipal Executive is still looking at it and will then send their decision to the municipal council. “I still have good hope,” says Bronkhuyzen. “I just can’t imagine that the council really wants to let the NFF go.” She says that the film festival had applied for a subsidy of 600,000 euros from the municipality, about 15 percent of their budget. “In four years it amounts to 2.4 million euros, that is a lot of money for a cultural institution. We cannot spend what we do not have, so we will have to make cuts.”
