Keanu Reeves fans have seen their hero since he was a penniless teenager in Bill & Ted’s Crazy Journey Through Time. Or as a black-clad killer in John Wick. But 38 years ago he was a reporter at a teddy bear fair. There is a video of it. And it’s one of the best the internet has to offer.

Long before Hollywood turned Keanu Reeves into a millionaire A-list actor, he was a correspondent for Canadian broadcaster CBC. In 1984, he was sent to Canada’s International Teddy Bear Fair as part of the Going Great program. With this grandiose video contribution, his path was virtually mapped out. Shortly thereafter, he made his acting debut on the series Hangin’ In.

Reeves peppers visitors with plush investigative questions, conducts business talks with his bearded business partner and is attacked by a wild cuddle mate.

Reeves as Teddy correspondent

And the whole report is already unmistakable, what fans love the actor for today. For the warm manner and the big grin and the lack of embarrassment in making a fool of yourself for other people. As a Keanu fan, that alone can make you fall on your knees. Thanks internet
