The Christian Democrats want a national plan for maternity care. That’s what party leader Ebba Busch says in her summer speech before the election in September.

The plan can be seen as a first step in abolishing the regions and national healthcare, a demand KD has pushed for a long time.

– Swedish healthcare suffers from a system error that is spelled regions, says Ebba Busch.

But even if KD gets his demand through, it will take time to reorganize the healthcare system.

Therefore, maternity care should be dealt with immediately, KD believes. The national plan should include the re-opening of some maternity clinics that have closed down, and securing clinics whose future is now threatened.

Every woman giving birth must also have her own midwife, demands Ebba Busch in her summer speech.

The speech was held at Hönö, in the archipelago municipality of Öckerö outside Gothenburg. Ebba Busch also spoke there in 2018, in an election campaign that was successful for the Christian Democrats. The party’s representatives were happy to remind us of this overcast, windy Sunday on Hönö.
