The forest fire, which has been going on for 5 days in the Kostanay region of Kazakhstan, has been brought under control. Kazakhstan Emergency Situations Minister Yuriy Ilyin stated that the fire was brought under control at 15.00 local time and stated that 1,785 people took part in the fire extinguishing efforts. Minister Ilyin stated that cooling works continue in the region with 50 personnel and 8 vehicles. Minister Ilyin said that 43 thousand hectares of forest area was turned into ashes due to the fire.
NEW HOUSING WILL BE BUILT
Kazakhstan Prime Minister Alihan Ismailov stated that new residences will be built for the residents of the region who lost their homes due to the fire. It was also announced that the People’s Assembly of Kazakhstan will collect donations for the residents of the region affected by the fire. Many companies and public institutions also stated that they would support the people who lost their homes.
More than 1,800 people were evacuated due to the fire in Kazakhstan, 1 person died and 12 people were injured.
