Oulu’s Kärpät has won SM bronze in the ice hockey league. In the bronze match, Kärpä defeated KalPa 3–2 in the overtime.
Kärppien scored the winning goal in 71.08 Teemu Turunen.
The home team Kärppien started the scoring in the first period Kasper Björkqvist. KalPan Kasper Simontaival and Aapeli Räsänen took KalPa to a 2–1 lead in the second set.
Kärppien extended the match to overtime with his equalizer in the third set Victor Berglund.
Kärppie’s previous SM medal, silver, was from 2019.
– The feeling has become easier in a certain way. After a big disappointment, we got some kind of reward and we get to the finals having won the last game, Kärppie captain Atte Ohtamaa said.
