Karlstad University restarts programs for biomedical analysts

The program starts during the autumn and on Monday the admission opens for the three -year training. The last time it was possible to read to biomedical analysts at Karlstad University in 2014 and already then the shortage within the professional group was a known problem.

According to statistics from the National Board of Health and Welfare, all regions in the country, except Örebro County, report a deficit on biomedical analysts.

Difficult to recruit to smaller hospitals

Region Värmland has been driving in the process of starting education. A total of more than 200 biomedical analysts in Värmland work, but almost a quarter are approaching retirement age, which is why the need for new recruitment is great.

-At present, it is difficult to recruit to Arvika and Torsby, says Ann-Charlotte Ransjö, area manager for medical diagnostics and service in Region Värmland.
