Lugi lost the match in a way that they didn’t even understand themselves.
– I cannot answer what happened. Nothing was right, neither forward nor backward. Everything locked up. We tried to take timeouts and talk about it but nothing worked. We ended up in a deep slump that we didn’t manage to get out of, says Lugis Axel Andersson to the Handball League’s live broadcast.
The game in the lower region of the table was completely even until the 40th minute when it was 16-16. When Mads Kragh Thomsen reduced to 18-19 for Lugi, the match clock stood at 44.39. Then Lugi went scoreless for 12.59 before Assar Kammenhed scored the next Lugi goal for 19-26 after 57.38.
“It was like black and white”
It was a powerful pull from Karlskrona.
– We play a very good second half, it was like black and white. We played a good attacking game and also played well at the back and got counter goals. We were dangerous from all positions, says Karlskrona’s Olafur Gudmundsson, who scored five goals.
When Hampus Dahlgren pushed in 21-18, best in the match with seven goals, for Karlskrona after an opening pass from goalkeeper Uros Tomic, Lugi took one of several timeouts. It didn’t help, but Karlskrona just ran away while Tomic nailed it again.
Delicious “japan” ended the match
The delicacy of the match came with three seconds remaining. Isak Larsson played the ball to Mattias Johansson who did a variation of a “japan”, received the ball in the air with his left hand and angled in to finish 29-19 hanging in the penalty area.
