During the opening period, Benzema pushed past two balls Edouard Mendyn every three minutes Vinicius Junior and Luka Modricin accurate feeds. The hat trick sealed off on a rainy evening in London at the start of the second period as Mendy flew the ball to the Frenchman far from his own goal.

The evening of three goals was the second in a row as Realema managed to knock down Parisian PSG from the sequel in the quarterfinals with a hit by Benzeman. Benzema also made history, becoming the first player to ever score three goals for the Chelsea net on the Euro pitch.

– These are magical evenings, just like that match was the PSG match at our home field. We came to win this match and show what Real Madrid is made of. Everything went well, as we played great from start to finish, Benzema stated on the Real Madrid website.

– The goals were really important, and I especially liked the third, because I missed one place in the opening period and it stuck in my mind, the French cannon continued.

With his hits, Benzema set a record for the French players in the Champions League, as no one had yet been able to break the ten-goal limit in a single season. The last 10 goals from the French in the European Cup were scored Just Fontaine during the period 1958–1959.

There is still a long way to go to a one-season record in the Champions League, as Benzema’s former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo uploaded 16 goals for Real in the 2015-2016 season.

Moving from Lyon to Madrid in 2009, Benzema has knocked out a total of 82 hits in 138 Champions League matches. Above all-time statistics are Ronaldo (140), Lionel Messi (125) and Robert Lewandowski (85).

“She’s like a great wine”

Manager of Real Madrid on his way to the La Liga championship Carlo Ancelotti praised his team’s contribution in London.

– The most important element was the courage that the players showed. We played very well from the bottom up and got between the lines. Vinicius Junior and Benzema played well together in the attack, and when we play around, we can catch up against anyone.

According to Ancelott, Benzema’s gaming is improving year by year.

– He’s like a great wine. He is a strong person who knows he is an important player. How he carries himself makes him a role model for everyone. Karim is a constant threat in the pits, and we’re glad he’s playing with us.

Chelsea’s defensive play bet the second game on the tube as Brentford broke into a Premier League match on Saturday Thomas Tuchelin shelters at Stamford Bridge 4–1. Most recently, Chelsea had conceded at least three goals on their home field twice in a row in 2012.

Tuchel said Chelsea was far from its own level, which knows the cold ride against a team like Real Madrid.

– We continued where we left off against Brentford. The first episode was the most terrible in structure, defensive play, and overall look I’ve ever seen from us, Tuchel spoke after the battle broke.

Bayern was left without a goal for a long time

The second match of Wednesday night saw a big surprise when Spain’s Villarreal managed to beat Bayern Munich 1-0. The only hit of the match was completed in the eighth minute by a Dutch striker Arnaut Danjuma.

Resetting Bayern in the European Games is a rare treat, as the German giant had last missed goals in the Champions League in February 2019. There were as many as 30 matches in between.

Coach of Bayern, which leads the Bundesliga to Dortmund by nine points Julian Nagelsmann was not at all happy with the team’s grips in the opening section.

– We didn’t play well in either direction, and we didn’t get to our normal rhythm. In the end, it was good that we only lost 1-0 and that gives us optimism for the second match. We will show our better side in that game, Nagelsmann said at a news conference.

Nagelsmann praised Villarreal for his performance.

– They may not have the biggest names, but they seemed to be a strong Spanish team. If they don’t put pressure on that any more, they won’t make mistakes.

Experienced Bayern striker Thomas Müller admitted that the game did not go as desired.

– This loss was not budgeted. If the game had gone really bad for us, the result could have been uglier. We take a blow to our chin, but we know how to react. Yes, we tried, but we just couldn’t get any better.

Villarreal manager Unai Emery recalled that the match pair is only in the middle.

– We played well and made many people happy. The result could have been better, but I am satisfied. We have to be careful because there is still another 90 minute game left. We want to win it too.

The second rounds will be played next week.
