Canan Karatay’s advice of less medicine and more salt turned into a malpractice case. Doctors established the ‘Karatay victims’ platform. Allegedly, Canan Karatay recommended ‘less medicine, more salt’ to her patient named Ceyhun Ülker. Ceyhun Ülker, whose kidneys failed after that treatment, went to the prosecutor’s office, but died due to cancer while the investigation was ongoing. Canan Karatay, who is accused of giving wrong treatment, will appear before the judge on January 9.
“THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH MY WIFE’S KIDNEYS”
According to the news in Show Main News; The wife of Ceyhun Ülker, who allegedly died after the wrong treatment of Canan Karatay, said, “He told us to drink 1 liter of water with a spoon of rock salt added a day. He said that he was diabetic and that surgery was not necessary. My wife did not have a problem with her kidneys when we went to him.” he said.
Allegedly, after this incident, complaints started coming to doctors. Physicians also established a ‘Karatay victims platform’. Physicians say that you, too, may have been victimized by Canan Karatay and invite patients who think so to file a complaint as soon as possible.
“THIS IS WRONG ADVICE”
Experts commented on the wrong treatment applied to Ceyhun Ülker.
Istanbul Medical Chamber Member Dr. Recep Yılmaz Koç said, “This is wrong advice. Salt is salt. For some reason, he feels the need to speak on television and in the press outside his field.” he said.
“Miss Canan has classical treatment methods.” “The first of these is to load the patient with all kinds of vitamins. The second is that a rock salt trend has started in recent months.” He stated:
Inviting the victims to complain, Dr. Recep Yılmaz Koç continued his statement as follows:
There are patients with blood pressure who go to dialysis. We have patients who stop taking cholesterol medications and have heart attacks. We have many patients who are harmed by this. They should apply to the Chamber of Medicine or the Istanbul Health Directorate with a petition. “Our request from Ms. Canan is not to mislead these patients,” he said.
“THERE IS NO WAY FOR SALT TO DO THIS”
Internal Medicine Specialist made a statement on the subject. and Cardiologist Prof. Dr. Canan Karatay’s statement is as follows:
“Everyone thinks it’s table salt. I’m talking about crystal rock salt. So it seems funny to me, I laugh. A person I haven’t seen since 2020 is suing because it made me sick. There is no way salt can do this. There is absolutely no such thing as being banned from the profession. “I always won the cases and always received compensation.”
