A kangaroo is on the loose in Danish Jutland.

On Wednesday, the animal jumped away from a zoo in the town of Lintrup, which is located in the countryside of southern Jutland at the height of the larger coastal cities of Esbjerg and Kolding. The police are working to capture it, but have so far been unsuccessful.

The public is asked to keep an eye out and call the police or the zoo if they see the kangaroo. There is no point in trying to hunt it on your own, underlines zoo manager Dennis Jensen for TV Syd.

– There is no way you can run as fast as it, so you shouldn’t try to catch it yourself. The best thing to do is to keep an eye on it and stay there but at a distance, he says.

Several motorists have seen the kangaroo by the roads in the area, but when zoo staff got there it had already jumped on.
