One person feels less safe after the disturbances, the other says: “It’s over, everything will be fine again.” Ria, and other residents with her, say it is annoying that Kanaleneiland is in the news in this way again. “We do everything we can to improve ourselves,” she explains. Even after her window has been smashed, she knows that it is not the neighborhood itself. “No, we have so many neighborhood fathers who pushed hard. We hear from everyone on the street that these were people from outside.”
