Eijkemans says what other people have already said: Kampong is a special club. He himself played for GVVV and VVA’71, clubs where players get or received decent pay. At Kampong, he pays a contribution, just like every first team player. “I needed that money more than now,” says Eijkemans. “And I really had a good time everywhere. But this group from Kampong is really fantastic. You want to belong to that, and I will stay with that until it gets pathetic.”
