KalPa was cool again in the last seconds of their game – the Aces were “disarmed” according to the expert with a soft and strange referee’s line

KalPa was cool again in the last seconds of their

In Kuopio, KalPa beat the Pelicans keeper Patrik Bartos too got hot with his shots in the first period and got to a well-deserved 1–0 lead. Juuso Könönen rose strongly to the goal from a small angle. Goalkeeper Bartosak’s loose puck control was a bit disappointing, and Benjamin Korhonen was able to lift the return puck into the net in 5:54. The playoff goal was the first career goal for the center of KalPa’s four chain.

KalPa lost its lead after the opening set to the ice. Könönen, who scored the opening goal, sat on the ice when the Pelicans went up to 1-1 by Lars Bryggmann by guiding with a special situation match within 33.10.

After that KalPa defender Hugo Gallet tackled the Pelicans Elias Vilenia from the back, worthy of a jet command in 34.20. Vilen hit his head on the Plexiglas and was taken to the booth.

Jesper Mattila took KalPasta to the ice again, and the Pelicans took a 2–1 lead at the end of the second period, in 39:45 Lukas Jasek with a man-of-the-match goal.

Ylen Speech expert Ismo Lehkonen highlighted the responsibility of the tackled player.

– Vilen made himself small in the situation. He saw that the Tackle was coming. It is also a question of how to receive a tackle. Here we saw a non-textbook situation. Ice hockey is a fighting sport and Tackles must be completed in the playoffs at least, reminded Lehkonen.

– That tackle wouldn’t even have resulted in a suspension in the Swedish, German or Swiss series because of it. In Finland, these have been raised to a high standard, and they always result in a big punishment, Lehkonen compared.

KalPa eventually fought their way into the series by scoring two goals in the third set. Colby Sissons equalized in 48.41 and Matyas Kantner scored a 3–2 winning goal in 54:05.

– I wish KalPa would have lost its grip (and victory) in the same way as in the last game in Lahti. Tyler Kelleher had been left unbelievably free as the Pelicans went for the equalizer without a goaltender in the final seconds. That open spot should have been levelled, updated puck expert Lehkonen.

KalPa’s coach Tommi Miettinen took a stand on the referee’s line.

– A good and intense hockey game, where we were very good five on five, actually the whole game. In terms of the series as a whole, I would hope that we could play more five on five and the players would be allowed to play. In my opinion, it doesn’t do the game justice if this is just superiority against superiority.

The Pelicans had their head coach on the sidelines for the game Tommi Niemelä.

– The Lahti players’ courage to play may deteriorate, as Niemelä has managed to relax the team’s playing during difficult moments during the season, Lehkonen said about the effect of the first coach’s absence during the match.

Ilves bombed Niklas Rubin as wicketkeeper

In Tampere, Ässät took two consecutive ice-outs at the beginning of the opening set, for which Ilves punished. Emeli Finland preliminary work Joona Ikonen shot the b-point from the bottom arc directly from the pass for a 1–0 goal in 4:52.

Ässat got the puck into the post once in a losing position, but at the end of the set Jyrki Jokipakka and Filip Westerlund increased Ilves’ lead to 3-0. Aces switched to another goal Rasmus Korhonen’s Niklas Rubin in place of. Rubin thus got valuable rest time for the fourth quarter-final to be played in Pori on Friday.

Ilves practically solved the match, which ended in a 4–1 victory, in the opening set and took a strong hold on the people of Pori with their puck control and strong play in the attacking zone.

Jesse Joensuu got its name from Ässie’s 1–3 narrowing with superiority. The pinball hit was lucky for the Ilves defender Tuomas Salmelan from skate to own. In the third set, Joona Ikonen hit the final scores of the second sealing game of the evening.

– A tight match, although it was perhaps not our best game. We realized that today was not the day of “fressein” and defended well. We messed up a couple of times, but otherwise it was a good win, said Ilvesken Aatu Räty.

Defender of Aces Verner Hellman saw that the team played better this time than in the first Tampere match against Ilves.

– Still, we couldn’t bring out our own style of play properly. Ilves held the puck almost the entire time and was able to control the game, while we were not able to play hard and pass properly, Hellman said.

The line of judges in the match series was completely different compared to the previous match played in Pori. Whereas on Monday only the most egregious fouls were whistled, this time at the beginning of the game all actions that even somehow resembled a foul were eliminated.

Ässat suffered more from the line, Puhee’s expert Ismo Lehkonen with.

– Soft and strange line in Tampere, especially at the beginning of the match. The aces were fired from the guns, as the team got two pretty soft ices right at the start. The aces couldn’t really fight, and for them it was all about skiing, Lehkonen described.

Guest coach Curry on the stone had the same view on the outcome of the match.

– The number of understrength in the first set had a big impact on the course of the match, Kivi acknowledged the picture of the evening briefly.
