Kiekko-Espoo faced its winner for the first time this season in the women’s ice hockey series, Auroraliiga.
Kiekko-Espoo, who marched from win to win in the Auroraliiga, in a magnificent match in Kuopio, where the goalkeeper of KalPa turned a 3–1 home win Salla Sivulan with the help of 45 saves.
The victory was only the second in eight games for the Kuopio team. KalPa was close to winning already on Saturday, but even then it lost 2-3 to Kuortane in the shootout.
Goal nets waved for KalPa Veera Paroinen, Jessica Pappinen and scores 1+1 compiled Johanna Juutilainen. K-Espoo made the 1–2 reduction in the 56th minute Nia Käyht.
Tampere Ilves is at the top of the league with a two point difference to Hämeenlinna’s Pallokerho, who have played less matches than the Tampere team. At the turn of the week, Ilves beat TPS and today Kuortanene 3–2.
Like Ilves, HPK and HIFK, who are fourth in the series, also took double wins over the weekend. The HPK striker with the most power 4+10=14 at the top of the point exchange Julia Mateikova collected 1+3 points in a 4–2 away win in Rovaniemi.
