Kalle Rovanperä was a scary situation in the race for victory in the World Rally Championship in Catalonia, when in the last corner of the 10th special stage, there was suddenly a lump that looked like a brick on the driving line.
– I don’t know what was in it. It was scary, Rovanperä said in the finish interview.
– I was sure it would break our car. But luckily it was pretty soft.
Map reader Jonne Halttunen was already in awe when he reached the finish line.
– Hey! How can that be? Halttunen was amazed.
Even during the service break, the Finn wasn’t sure what the lump on the road was.
– I do not know. It looked like a brick or a piece of concrete, Rovanperä told Urheilu.
– Fortunately, it wasn’t hard when it hit the concrete armor.
– Yes, it’s a bit jarring at that speed. It takes a moment to think that you can’t dodge and it’s bad if you get hit.
