Kalle Rovanperä drove to his second victory in the Porche Carrera Cup.
Rally star Kalle Rovanperä drove to victory in the Porsche Carrera Cup race in Austria.
Rovanperä started the race from the second grid, but already rose to the top in the opening lap Benjamin Paque before.
It rained a lot from the sky, but Rovanperä kept his first place and broke away from the others. Not everyone was in control of the conditions and the safety car was brought to the track in the middle of the race.
The cars finally followed the safety car to the pit straight, and the race was no longer continued. Therefore, Rovanperä claimed the victory earlier Niels Langeveld.
– The pace was good and I was able to control the gap to the car coming behind just as I wanted. The race ended with red flags due to deteriorating track conditions, Rovanperä wrote on Instagram.
Rovanperä is not driving all the World Rally Championship races this year, so he has had time to drive no fewer than five races in the Porche Carrera Cup. Saturday’s victory was the second of the season.
Rovanperä will also drive at the Austrian Red Bull Ring on Sunday. He starts the race from the fourth square.
