The challenge is sand and darkness

Honkavuori has won the Dubai competition in 2020, and many competition experiences have accumulated.

It is a day-long continuous competition, where each driver takes turns driving in his own class. The driving session lasts a couple of hours per driver, in between the cars are serviced and refueled. The drivers include both professionals and amateurs.

Honkavuori’s fervent expectation is that the whole 24-hour race run will be successful without any problems.

– All five of us are competitive guys, but we go with good feelings and hard goals. We are going to get at least a win in our own category.

What makes the competition challenging is that there are several cars of different classes on the track at the same time. There are many differences in speeds and drivers.

In Dubai, especially at night, it is dark, which requires extra care when driving.

– The brisk five-kilometer course is in the middle of sand, and there is a lot of dust flying, Honkavuori adds.
