Carolina’s seven-game winning streak was snapped when the New York Rangers rolled to a 6-2 victory over the Hurricanes.

Carolina moved Teuvo Teräväinen and Jesperi Kotkaniemi with hits to take a 2–1 lead in the second period, but then the Rangers went wild. Artemi Panarin scored no less than four goals and broke his long goalless streak yesterday Kaapo Kako one empty.

Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen played a key role as the Colorado Avalance defeated the Florida Panthers 5–3.

Välimäki scored four goals, Puljujärvi succeeded
