K-Pop, the making of a phenomenon

BTS, Black Pink, Psy, Seventeen, Big-bang, these world famous K Pop groups have invaded record stores for many years, piled up views on YouTube and generated colossal income for their country: South Korea . These different groups are the locomotives of an industry whose influence is cultural because they are listened to from Riyadh to Mexico City via London, Bangkok or Dakar.

The stars, nicknamed “idols”, inspire young and old all over the world, who cherish the dream of becoming the standard-bearers of K-Pop of tomorrow. But, this musical genre which extends from rap to pop is also characterized by the prominence of a foolproof marketing and the loyalty of the fans.

Immersed in an industry with unique contours, whose influence continues to grow and represents a key asset for a small country of 52 million inhabitants.
