JVM GOLD! Swedish super talent Alvar Myhlback outclasses everyone and wins Sweden’s second straight gold medal

After half of the 10-kilometer race, Alvar Myhlback led by 33 seconds. Five kilometers later he crossed the finish line 52 seconds ahead of the rest of the field.

17 year olds Alvar Myhlback was totally dominant when, in his first JVM, against competitors two years older, he won the gold.
– It feels so fucking wonderful, he says to SVT Sport.
– Today, everything fits me. It’s absolutely insane. I don’t know what to say. I’m insanely happy.

Just an hour earlier also won Evelina Crusell gold in the women’s junior 10 kilometers.
– It couldn’t be a better day, says Alvar Myhlback about the Swedish success.

Earlier during the championship, where both juniors and U23 skaters meet in Slovenian Planica, Sweden has been without gold.

Myhlback made his JVM debut on Wednesday. Then, in a 20 kilometer mass start, it ended in a sixth place for the 17-year-old after total dominance by the Norwegian Jørgen Nordhagen.
