There are only ten rounds left in the NHL regular season. There will be an exciting competition for the last playoff spots.
Before the end of the transfer window, the Nashville Predators, who rejuvenated their ranks, got a really sweet and important victory in the hockey NHL at the expense of the top team Boston Bruins. Juuse Saros 35/36 saves carried the Predators to a 2–1 away win over the Bruins.
With a win, Boston would have secured a regular season victory.
Nashville, which is three points away from the last playoff spot in the Western Conference, got its third win in the last eight games.
Saros has made saves in 57 matches this season with a save percentage of 91.6. The save percentage of the Finnish keeper, who has a balance of 37–28–8, is currently the eighth best in the NHL.
– Saros made important saves and we handled the little things well, Nashville’s experienced defender Ryan McDonagh underlined after the game.
Saros, who played in this season’s all-star game, has already saved 16 one-goal wins for the Predators this season. Saros’ second clean sheet of the season was really close, as Boston’s star forward David Pastrnak scored his 52nd goal of the season just two seconds before the end of the match.
Along with Saros, the away team’s successes included those who finished the 1–0 goal in the second period Cody Glass and scored a 2–0 goal into an empty net at the end of the third period Cole Smith.
Nashville is still in fierce competition for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference, tied with the Winnipeg Jets, who are three points behind. Along with the Predators and Jets, the Calgary Flames are also fighting for a playoff spot, having captured one more point than Nashville.
Before the transfer window closed, Nashville traded among its ranks a forward by Mikael Granlund (Pittsburgh) and Def Mattias Ekholmin (Edmonton). The Predators now have nine games left to tighten their grip on the playoffs.
– We have a lot of faith in our own abilities. We really got a lot more confidence when we beat the top team, Glass commented on Nashville’s playoff chances.
No team from the Western Conference has yet secured a spot in the sun.
Barkov’s Florida situation is similar to Nashville
On the Eastern Conference side Alexander Barkov The situation of the skippered Florida Panthers regarding the playoff spot is similar to that of Nashville – the team is three points away from the last playoff spot.
Both Pittsburgh and the Panthers, who are tied for the last playoff spot, have eight games left in the regular season.
There is a tight pack behind the teams, as Buffalo and Ottawa are two points away from Florida and Washington is three points away.
Boston, Carolina, New Jersey, New York Islanders and Toronto have already secured a place in the Eastern Conference.

Five Finns for power points
