Finnish women’s national team star Jutta Rantala scored both of her team’s goals as Leicester knocked out Liverpool in the FA Cup. Leicester’s head coach was not with the team.

The women’s FA Cup quarterfinals were played on Saturday in England. In the match between Leicester and Liverpool, two Finnish stars of the women’s national team played against each other, Jutta Rantala and Emma Koivisto.

Rantala was the most celebrated hero of the match when he managed to score twice. Leicester beat Liverpool 2–0 with Rantala’s goals. Rantala has played in Leicester since August last year. Rantala is his team’s best scorer in the Superliiga with five hits.

Leicester’s away win was a small-scale sensation, because Leicester, who went into the match as underdogs, is buzzing around. The team is in the eye of the storm because the club’s head coach Willie Kirk a relationship with a club player is suspected.

According to the Telegraph Kirk was suspended from the match, and thus he did not coach the team in an important match. The British newspaper Guardian was the first to report on the suspicions. A Leicester spokesman told the Telegraph that the allegations are now being investigated internally at the club.

Leicester was piloted by an assistant coach in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup Jennifer Foster.

Kirk, 45, has coached Leicester until November 2022. He has previously been the director of football operations at the club.

Leicester’s previous chief pilot Jonathan Morgan was recently given his starting pass at the helm of Sheffield United’s women’s team after it was revealed he had been in a relationship with a player. The revelation specifically concerned the time when Morgan coached Leicester.
